A Blickling day out

Image
Val and I decided to take out a joint membership with The National Trust after several years of not having a membership due to their position on fox hunting on their property. We had gone to Clumber Park as our first NT visit.  We both know Blicking well and although the house was not open due to "the Lockdown" we were able to go into the gardens.  You can see our album of the day here

A family meetup at Clumber Park 24th July

Image
After several months of lock down and no chance to see Lizzie and family we agreed to meet up at Clumber Park. It's around 3 hours drive from Norwich and so we set off in my car on a Friday morning at about 8am to arrive at 11.00. The road was not too busy and we made good time although driving carefully we were achieving 70+ mpg.  We arrived at almost exactly the right time about 10 minutes ahead of Lizzie and James and of course William. A trip to Anglesey Abbey

Image
Val and I went to Anglesey Abbey. She had never been and so it was nice to show her around. As the site was under lockdown there was a one way system which we somehow managed to ignore You can see the album here

Our loft is upgraded

Image
Last thursday we had a team of two come and upgrade our loft to usable space.  Two guys arrived at around 9am and they very quickly put just sheets everywhere. The company ( instaloft.co.uk ) who do this had surveyed a week before and given a price to floor the central part of the loft and install a three part aluminium loft ladder for a total price of £778. We had anticipated a cost of £1000 and so we decided to go ahead, You'll see from the pictures that the frames are box section and consequently very strong. They are about six inches above the insulation  See  album here
